how do stances, hex, enchants stack? (evading)
Hi Guys.
I was wondering how stances, hexes and enchants work together. Let's say for example you have one guy who got Bonnetis Defense (75% chance to evade) Aegis (50% chance to evade) Ward against Meele (50% chance to evade) and Rigor Mortis (100% chance to not evade) How will they stack? What will be calculated first? Aegis and WaM would give him 75% chance to evade, right? How much is the chance of evading with Aegis, WaM and Rigor Mortis? I'm really curious on how this works. My guess is that Rigor Mortis would be the strongest and the target has 0% chance of evading. But the explanation "is the strongest" is kind of bad so, I really would like to get some insights here. |

Yes, Rigor Mortis would just cancel out all the others. I don't know how the others stack up though, if there's a limit to evading or blocking.

Rigor Mortis would override all of them. You can figure this out logically because, well, if the others overrode it the skill would do literally nothing because by default you don't block or evade anyway.

The rationale is that since the skill exists, it does something. And if it didn't override chance to evade, it would do nothing.
There's not much more to it than that. EDIT: In real life, a bullet has a chance to kill you if you're hit by it. If you're hiding in a little box with thick steel walls, you "cannot be killed" by a bullet. Get it? Last edited by Mario 64 Master; Aug 25, 2005 at 08:38 AM // 08:38.. |

Evasion percentages stack multiplicatively. That is, thinking of it another way, it checks to see if you evade due to skill A, then if you evade due to skill B, etc. etc., and if any succedd, you evade.

It's because Rigor Mortis is just sitting there, waiting for something to be blocked or evaded. It works like this...
Ward Against Melee, Aegis, etc have a chance to block or evade an attack. When an attack is successfully blocked/evaded, a little flag goes up and rigor cancels the block or evade. Attacks CANNOT be blocked or evaded without a skill being used (they can only miss). So it is obviously logical that Rigor will override any skill that will block/evade. That is its purpose. |
